How it works....

So you're ready for a great weekend of fishing..

If you have pre-registered through online, or in-person at a participating store, you will have your registration number and you're ready to start fishing. If you are registering in person, come to the Belwood Hall registration desk between 6pm-8pm Friday (May 25th,2024) or ANYTIME during the Pike Derby (Saturday 6am-8pm & Sunday 6am-3pm) and register and pick up a registration number.

You can fish from shore, or by boat. All fishing must be done in accordance with the Pike Derby Rules & Regulations available on this website

If you catch an eligible Pike (minimum 20") or Walleye (minimum 18 1/8"), bring it to one of the official measuring docks as indicated in the rules (open at 7am). Ensure it is kept healthy in a live well. If you don't have a live well, no problem, just pick up a free heavy duty garbage bag from the registration hall when you register, fill it with water and store your catch in that. Please though, for your sake and the sake of the fish, take care to handle gently and humanely, and don't pick up by the gills. Once at the dock, you need to advise the official measurer, who will measure the length of your catch; inspect your proof of registration; record the details; take a photo and  then ensure the healthy release of your catch.

At the end of the Pike Derby (3pm Sunday), return to the Belwood Hall. Ensure you have your registration ticket. Pick up some tickets for our raffle and/or 50/50 (if you wish) and attend the presentations.

Winners of the longest fish will be announced and all prizes will be awarded.

We may also have some presentations to our major beneficiaries, thanks to the generous support of you and our sponsors.

THANK YOU! on behalf of our benefactors AND Belwood Lions for being part of this years Pike Derby. Please share your comments with us, we are all volunteers running this derby, and we want you to have the best experience and have a fun and safe weekend
